Palms Place Tower

Dean Roofing Company is the process of completing numerous scopes of work on the new Palms Place tower at the Palms Hotel & Casino. This project involved many specialty items in the fields that we work in. We performed the following scopes of work:

Single-ply membrane roofing, standing seam metal roofing and Green roofing. The green roof covers the podium section directly above the parking garage. The roof consists of multiple layers of membrane and protection board, enabling the growth of trees and shrubs above it. In order to function properly, the roof needs to withstand the moisture, soil and root conditions while protecting the structure underneath from water intrusion.

The bulk of the insulation was installed as sound barrier in all of the interior walls. This keeps the noise down between rooms and from the hallway. There was some exterior wall insulation installed as well, but most of the exterior is glass.

Firestopping is an integral component in making sure that if and when a fire starts in a room, it remains confined there until it can be extinguished. For this project, we provided top and bottom of wall firestopping, as well as through-penetration and slab edge safing.

On this structure, we provided below-grade waterproofing for the basement walls. This keeps water from penetrating the basement walls. This waterproofing is critical, as rain and ground water can seep through basement or foundation walls and damage the structure.

Dean Roofing performed this work under contract with M.J. Dean Construction, Inc. The total dollar amount for work performed exceeded $3.5 million.

Town Square Mall - Sunset & Las Vegas Blvd.

Dean Roofing Company provided roofing and insulation services on the recently completed Town Square project at the intersection of Sunset and Las Vegas Blvd South.

We installed the roofs at the steep slope areas only. The low slope areas were done by other roofing subcontractors. We installed a great deal of clay tile there, as well as standing seam metal, copper and synthetic slate roofing materials.

The real copper used originates from a company called Revere Copper Products, originally founded by Paul Revere himself! The project is a beautiful addition to our city. In addition to the steep slope roofing, we also insulated the structures.

A small amount of below grade waterproofing was installed as well.

This work was performed under contract with Marnell-Corrao Associates at a cost of approximately $1.9 million.
